Before you begin:
Look for these items in your installation kit:
4 - 5/16” self-tapping screws
3 - splice taps
1 - wiring harness (yellow-constant power, red-accessory power, black-ground)
1 - rubber mast antenna
You will need:
Drill
Pliers
Flat screw driver
Phillips screw driver
Black silicone
Wire cutters and strippers
Wire tester
1- 5/16 magnetic socket bit
1. Disassemble the rubber mast
2. Using the large drill bit, drill a hole on the top right hand side of the back of the cab. (Bobcat and Gehl machines already have a suitable hole) Ensure that you avoid all intact wires.
3. Attach the antenna and ensure that it is secure.
4. When wiring leave approx. 16” of extra wire from the back of where the mounting case will be.
The wires will be routed first then placed in and through the case just prior to mounting. Use a test light to find the positive constant. Using a splice tap attach the yellow wire and remove the excess. Ensure that the wires are routed through the back to be enclosed later. The ground can be found at the same location, use the same procedure to connect the ground.
5. Accessory or switched power can be found on various items in the cab. Find a power source that goes on/off with the key, route the wire then splice it. Be sure to use suitable sources. Avoid computer circuits, and small gauge wire. If in doubt contact a professional or your dealer.
You are now ready to mount your stereo to the roof. Place wire harness and antenna through the back of the unit and out the front face. (Keep deck out)
6. Using your drill and self-tapping screws, (ensure that the unit is centered and all wires are contained in the unit) drill the unit to the roof. Be sure that there are no wires behind.
7. Attach the wiring harness and antenna to the deck and slide into place. Turn the deck on and check operation.
8. Break off the self-tapping screws and place black silicone over the end of the screws. Ensure that there is good coverage over the screws to keep the cab water tight.
9. The job is complete. Enjoy listening to music while you work.
Xtendaguard
Before you Begin:
Look for these items in your installation kit:
2 – 7/16 bolts
2 - large washers
2 – small washers
2 – nuts
You will need:
Drill
2 5/8 wrenches
Sharpie
½” drill bit
1. Place the Xtendaguard on the bucket. Ensure that it is centered and sits as close to the bucket as possible.
2. Use the sharpie to mark where the holes that will be drilled.
3. Remove the Xtendaguard.
4. Drill 2 holes where the marks were made in the bucket.
5. Place the Xtendaguard on the bucket and attach using the bolts provided. Place the large washers on the inside of the bucket. (Ensure that the nuts are placed on the outside of the bucket to prevent stripping of the bolts from dirt.)
6. The job is complete.
